Ziyi Jin

Ziyi Jin earned her Master's degree in Film Directing from the California Institute of Arts. Ziyi believes that cinema is one of the most powerful ways to break down cultural barriers. In 2018 she made the first documentary of her, inspired by the nostalgia and problems derived from being an immigrant in the United States. At the end of 2019, she traveled to Mexico to film her thesis project. It was this production that marked a change in her career, as she made her face problems such as not being able to write or direct in her language. This made her the filmmaker that she is today: a director who, regardless of the society she tries to portray, she will manage to connect with the audience, putting an end to the cultural barriers that she is so interested in breaking.
