Markus Imboden (1955) is a Swiss screenwriter and director. He studied German studies and history. He first worked in theater, then later began shooting short films. He made his debut with the feature-length Bingo (1990). He established himself mainly due to television, where he directed almost thirty films and series, as well as the comedy The Cat Thieves (Katzendiebe, 1996).
