Biografie

Pilar Ruiz Gutiérrez holds a degree in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master in Screenwriting from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with a scholarship from the Fundación Viridiana and the Ibero-American Cooperation Institute. She also has a Diploma in Film Direction from the ECAM (Official Film School of Madrid). She won the second prize of the 1994 Marqués de Bradomín Prize for Theater Texts with the play "The three wounds", in 2001 she obtained the 1st. award at the 32nd International Festival of Potsdam (Berlin) and the Canal + France Award for the best short film at the 22thI International Festival of Cretéil (Paris) with her short film El Infanticida. She has co-written several film scripts and made numerous commercials. In 2005, she directed his first feature film, Los nombres de Alicia.
