Espen Fyksen has worked in animation since 1995, after starting out as an assistant on several film and television projects. He's worked as a digital artist, as well as on optical and digital effects, for such films as Wives III (Anja Breien, 1996), Junk Mail (Pål Sletaune, 1997) and Lime (Nathilde Overrein Rapp, 2001).
He made his debut as a feature film director with Elias and the Royal Yacht in 2007 (co-directed with Lise I. Osvoll), but he had also co-written and directed the preceding 3D-animated TV-series Elias (26 episodes at 10 minutes each). The series was nominated for an Emmy in 2006.
