Biografie

Born in Harbor City, California, filmmaker Damion L Smith began exploring his creative abilities at 16, when he wrote, produced and performed on his first album, G-Flow’s Menagerie of Funk. Over the next few years, Damion worked on a variety of independent music projects, ultimately deciding that he liked writing and producing more than performing. He then went on to start an independent music production company, Relic Entertainment, under which he released dozens of independent albums and worked with artists such as Tha Dogg Pound, Truth Hurts, Crooked I, Lady of Rage, Latoiya Williams, and The Fratthouse. Damion enrolled in the UCLA Film Department where his love for film and video grew into a career as a film and TV writer and director. His first short film, The Trials of Zander Peterson was Damion’s thesis student film for the UCLA extension Directing Certificate Program. The film went on to win at the Las Vegas Film Festival and a Best Shorts competition.
