Katrine A. Sahlstrøm

Producer Katrine A. Sahlstrøm worked for Danish director Lars von Trier for 7 years before she took the leap from fiction to documentaries in 2011.

Katrine holds a bachelor in Film- and media science from the universities of Copenhagen and Amsterdam. She is devoted to character driven documentaries with an emotional impact. Her debut as producer (Ai Weiwei: The Fake Case) was shortlisted for the main prize at IDFA and won the national critic’s award for best documentary in 2014.

In 2014 she created Good Company Pictures with the directors Katrine Philp, Kaspar Astrup Schröder and Boris Benjamin Bertram – later joined by producer Patricia Drati.

Since then, she has produced Beautiful Something Left Behind (SXSW 2020 Grand Jury Prize), ‘Photographer of War’ – one of the most watched documentary in Danish cinemas (nominated for a Danish Academy Award), False Confessions (CPH:DOX audience award, special jury prize at LA Film Festival), Waiting for the Sun (Hot Springs winner), and several others documentaries that have gained recognition around the world.
