Biografie

He studied film in Athens and Paris-IDHEC (Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographiques). Graduated as Director of Photography. He lived in France, Mexico and Greece. From 1967 till today he has worked as a Director of Photography in more than 50 Greek and international feature film productions in Mexico and Greece as well as in a large number of TV productions. In France he has been a freelancer for cinema magazines (Positif, Cinema 65-66) and foreign correspondent for Greek dailies (Demokratiki Allagi). In Mexico, (1967-1978) he has worked as a correspondent for the Italian Interpress Service news agency and free lancer for various leading Mexican dailies (Excelsior. Esto) In Greece, as a publisher and editor of monthly Greek Cinema (1966-1967) and from 1978 onwards as a foreign correspondent for Mexican dailies (El Sol de Mexico, Esto) and Mexican radio (Radio Educacion) as well as for film business papers (Hollywood Reporter, 1986/1989, Screen International, 1989 onwards). Editor of “Euro Film News”, an EU Media programme/Scale-Greek Ministry of Culture Information news service (1995-1996). He was in charge of the international promotion for the Mexican film industry during the seventies and was adviser to the Greek Film Centre for international festivals and promotion during the eighties. Representative at large/advisor for international festivals for the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE). Delegate for various festivals (notably Cannes and Berlin) for Greece and Mexico. In charge since 1998 of the Foreign Press and the International Programme Coordination at the Thessalonki International Film Festival in Greece. He is a member of Fipresci (Film Critics International Federation), FPA (The Foreign Press Association of Greece), AFA (The European Film Academy). He is a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres (French Republic).
