Brendan O'Hara

Brendan O'Hara

Biografie

Brendan O'Hara tells stories. Since acting in Down & Out with the Dolls he's been writing music, publishing poems and short stories, working on a script, and gratifying this "acting bug." There is no doubt, he aims to give people something to talk about, something to watch, something to feel. After a two year stint in Los Angeles "Mulder" moved to New York City, to be more Rockstar and less Roadie. Shrugging off the bs of Burger Commercials and WB bastardization, he traveled back to the East Coast to be in the mix, more connected with today, rather than Hollywood's tomorrow. Playing both piano and guitar while singing all originals at venues around the city, Brendan is spreading his word on positivity (and earning a few free drinks along the way). Brendan has called many places his home, but whether in Seattle or Southern Florida he is most at peace on stage. Down & Out WithThe Dolls is Brendan's feature film debut which suits this story well.
Indicative of his own desire to maintain artistic integrity, while making it mainstream enough to support himself, Down & Out with the Dolls, and its raunchy real reflection on the performer's life, plays out all too perfectly. In Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, New York, Jersey, and the 'burbs Brendan has one goal: To make soul ever-present and allow that soul to seethe with urgency. Those that have seen Brendan on piano and guitar, singing his ass off, are instantly involved with his Hip-hop-Theatrically-Classic-Blues-Jazzy-Folk- blend. It seems more appropriate to call him skippy the hick-hop hippie, than call his music any-one thing. His solo album, Stranger than Usual, can be ordered directly, and heard on the internet. Brendan attended Seattle University studying Humanities until Kurt Voss gave him the chance to make Down & Out with the Dolls. The sun is still rising, at age 21, he's been in bands, musicals, and even directed a few plays. The acting, singing, songwriter wants his words to be heard, but won't hesitate to belt you with them when he has the chance, and to do it with passion. Brendan aims to create "real things": to play mixed drink music for people with Real attention spans, to write wickedly crafted tales, to work characters of quality, and to triumph. His influences (and to whom he gives his thanks) are: His cousin Ryan, The Roots, James Taylor, The Doors, The Black Eyed Peas, Jack Black(and his trusty sidekick), Dancing, Drums, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Jeff Strutz, Franz List, Tom Robbins, Albert Camus, Ms. Linda, Dr. Fisher, the Dictionary, Women, Men, the courageous, the cowards, calluses, Kinnie, Kurt, Jim, Mary Jo, Caite, Casey, and little kids.
