Biografie

Diego Kaplan was born in Buenos Aires in 1968. He studied at the National Institute of Cinema (CERC) where he graduated in 1991. He directed several fictional programs such as the Son o se hacen TV series and the Mosca y Smith en el Once TV mini-series as well as 14 episodes of the Drácula TV mini-series. In 1997 he directed and produced his own film entitled Sabés nadar?, which was released commercially in 2002, written by Constance Novick with a cast including Laticia Brédice, Juan Cruz Bordeu, Antonio Birabent, Mariana Brisky, and Rita Cortese. In 2010 he directed Igualita a mí led by Adrián Suar and Florencia Bertotti, produced by Patagonik. In 2012 he directed 2+2 (Dos más Dos), a movie starring Carla Peterson, Adrián Suar, Julieta Díaz and Juan Minujín, also produced by Patagonik.

Diego directed more than 60 video clips. He won the MTV award for Best Video of Latin America for the song Flaca, performed by Andres Calamaro. In March 2012 he directed a video clip for the song The Childs Will Fly, performed by Roger Waters. In May 2000, without experience in the advertising market, he opened his own production company, Wasabi Films, working on commercials for clients such as Telecom, Unilever, America On Line, Diario La Nación, Banco BBVA, Marisant (Nutrasweet), Parmalat, Coca-Cola, MTV, Ford, Renault, Honda, Toyota and TNT. Major advertising agencies of Argentina who usually work with him include El Cielo, del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, Ponce, Young & Rubicam Argentina, Savaglio TBWA, Ogilvy Argentina, FCB and Santo Buenos Aires. Starting in 2002, he began working for the Hispanic market in the USA, filming for clients such as Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Sprint, Pepsi, Toyota USA, Honda USA, Wendy's and McDonald's.
