Biografie

Alan Snow was born in Kent, England. After studying fashion design and illustration at Salisbury College of Art, he worked in various trades, including tree surgery, sound engineering, animation, papermaking, and mixing flavors into yogurt. He later became an artist who works in fields of design with books, animation, film, and computers; he often combines design among mediums, as with his recent work on video games and music videos.

He has written and illustrated over 160 books for children, including How Dogs Really Work, The Truth About Cats, How Dinosaurs Really Work, and How Santa Really Works. Mr. Snow's diverse range of other projects includes the design of a children's science museum in Japan and the design of a project robot currently on sale worldwide.

The Here Be Monsters series of books were his first novels. They include Pants Ahoy!, The Man in the Iron Socks, and Cheese Galore! His next series of books, begun with Worse Things Happens At Sea, includes Going Under!, The Worst Goo in the World, and Cheezilla! Both series are set in the wonderfully weird world of Ratbridge.
