Ex-championship diver Viktoras whiles away his days on the Greek coast, toiling away at a factory with only his dreams, medals and grandmother for company. When a phone call summons him to Germany, a simple road trip is the answer - that is until he crosses paths with the handsome Mathias - a free-spirited hitchhiker who tempts Viktoras to take the road not taken. Mit seiner intimen Atmosphäre und der subtilen, aber offensichtlichen sinnlichen Spannung zwischen den Hauptfiguren erinnerte mich The Man with the Answers stark an die Arbeit von Marc Berger. Einerseits schätze ich das dynamische Road-Trip-Movie-Genre, andererseits wurde der Gesamteindruck des Films durch das "italienische Gehabe" der Figuren und eine gewisse Oberflächlichkeit der einzelnen Handlungsstränge (siehe Gefühl der Entwurzelung / Familienzusammenführung nach Jahren / Romantik unterwegs) etwas getrübt. Letztendlich hat mir der Film gefallen, aber ich bin sicher, man hätte mehr aus dem Thema machen können - sei es dramatisch, romantisch oder sogar komödiantisch.
