A day in the lives of a group of nuns who belong to the contemplative order of St. Dominicus, in a convent in Lund. The strict rules oblige the nuns to stay forever within the walls of the convent. Apart from two brief daily intermezzi, they are not allowed to speak to each other. It is their task to maintain an intense relationship with God, so all their activities are directed at that goal. Every day they assemble in five different religious congregations, they devote the rest of their time to contemplation and prayer. To avoid losing contact with the outside world entirely, one of the nuns reads from the newspaper during the meals. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
