Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler

Inhalte(1)

In 1984, a teenager named Tim McVey, fueled by cases of Mountain Dew and cheered by friends, became the first person to achieve a billion-point score playing a video game. The game was Nibbler, and the location was the now legendary Twin Galaxies arcade in Ottumwa, Iowa. In order to score a billion, players must endure forty-plus hours of grueling non-stop gameplay with each progressive level delivering increasing difficulty. Tim's record remained untouched for nearly 25 years. Or did it? In 2008, McVey learned that a teenager in Italy claimed a higher Nibbler score in 1984 - only a few months after Tim's record. For most of his adult life, Tim believed he was the Nibbler champion. Now the out-of-shape 40-year-old decides to beat the record and regain his legacy, but standing in the way is a shady rival gamer with his own sights set on achieving Nibbler immortality. Like The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters before it, MAN VS. SNAKE... is filled with unexpected twists and turns and is an endearing, funny, and compelling tale of the triumph of the human spirit.
