Englisch A surprisingly bearable movie that is better than some of the more recent adaptations of Karl May’s books about the Wild West. You will find a few really lame and embarrassing gags here, but luckily these are outweighed by a few ideas of genius. Most of the rest of the movie is a decent parody on adaptations of May’s works (once very popular in Central Europe) with some nods to other pictures too. ()

Englisch Well, this was quite a disappointment. After the TV trailer and the reviews, I was expecting a great western parody, but in the end the filmmakers failed to turn everything they had at stake into profit. Abahachi and Ranger were great, the main villain also played his part with great gusto and there were a few jokes that still make me laugh every time I think of them. Unfortunately, there were places where I was suspiciously bored, and also some jokes that completely missed the mark and brought the bar down to a much lower level. Still, hats off to someone other than the Zucker brothers and Mel Brooks for managing to make a very enjoyable and brisk parody that may be far from perfect, but the good moments flash by significantly more often than the bad ones. 65% ()
