The Falls

Lin is the owner of a small business. His wife lives abroad and his son is preparing for his college entrance exam. Lin’s daily life is simple and unhurried. He works, he watches TV, sometimes he hangs out with old friends for a drink. When summer comes, he makes a deal with a big company, but they don’t pay him as promised. Lin has to retrieve his money as soon as possible, or his small company will get into serious trouble. From this moment, his life changes significantly… What’s it like to be a businessman torn between a career and profit seeking on the one hand and self-preservation on the other? What chances does anyone have against the system? The story is based on the true experiences of the director’s friends who run their own companies. (Warsaw Film Festival)
