Englisch First and foremost, I want to be upset that something this vile and inhuman is even happening in this world. But you can't turn a blind eye to it, it has to be talked about, discussed, prevented. And I can't think of a better or punchier way to bring this unpleasant subject to the public. It's portrayed in an absolutely divine and convincing way. I felt a helplessness along with the women who were raped that I can't even put into words. For me, Merritt Wever was particularly excellent as the perceptive detective. I fell in love with her from the moment she first burst onto the scene, and she actually commanded my immense respect and admiration the entire time. I loved the dialogues between her and her husband, her partner (who was great too by the way), the victims, and the rest of the cast. But she wasn't the only one who seemed genuine. Even the saddest victim of all was played perfectly by Kaitlyn Dever. In short, one of the best crime dramas I can remember. 5 stars. ()

Englisch Precise filmmaking of a true story. The development of the characters and the gradual evolution of the plot revealing the facts found was accompanied by great acting performances. My favorite Kaitlyn Dever is just perfect for these more depressing roles. The emergence of the fantastic Toni Collette in the third episode really kicked it up a notch and her strong characterization gave the plot a whole new dimension, which added to the subsequent gradation of the finale. Brilliantly crafted and flawlessly served right under the viewer's nose. ()

Englisch The series is incredible. It depicts the investigation of a sexual assault case in a highly believable, factual, and civil manner, which gradually becomes something bigger, more disturbing, and bitter thanks to the tenacity and passion of the police investigator. Unlike typical genre productions, more attention is given to the victims of criminal offenses, and although the often-used manifestly slogan-like feminist element is absent, Unbelievable has a distinctly feminine tone. It is about female intimacy, shame, pain, and memories that turn into a knife that stabs at the most sensitive places. Do not expect action scenes, but rather patient detective work with the necessary dead ends. What sticks with me from the series is Toni Collette's brilliantly acted investigator and an overall good feeling about the project, in which I do not find any significant flaws. Overall impression: 80%. ()

Englisch I know I’m supposed to say, if I had it to do over, I wouldn’t lie. But the truth is ... I would lie earlier. And better.  A true-crime series about how the system does not work (which has a significant impact on individual people) until the moment it finally starts working, better late than never (which has a significant impact on individual people). The biggest complaint about the series is that after a focused and disturbing introductory episode, it is split into two timelines about two different genres. While one line (about coming to terms) follows the original storyline, where one unfortunate decision starts a chain reaction of other unfortunate decisions, the other storyline is far too standard and procedural, which benefits mainly from the performance of Wever and her empathetic policewoman, which is in conflict with her type. However, the first storyline does not have the necessary space and omits the most interesting sequences of those three years. The latter, thanks to the standard course and compression, on the other hand, gives the impression of an ordinary series and also omits the most interesting part and at least also the epilogue involving “what the hell happened with the hard drive". Englisch I'm giving this show five stars because, instead of an action-packed chaos full of logic holes, the creators crafted a surprisingly solid story that wasn't solely about the central jerk, but zeroed in on what really mattered. What's more, they did it in a way that had me glued to the screen. / Lesson learned: Netflix can still catch me off guard (and I'm usually one of its biggest critics). ()
