Englisch Opinions on the announced winners will vary, I don't want to judge those. The potential of the 90th Anniversary remains completely untapped - the video montages are fine, but that's it. Kimmel was getting a little boring and it needed someone to come up with something new - and not just humor - for the evening overall to make it more interesting and not just the stars sitting down in one place. The entire ceremony was rather disappointing. ()

Englisch Truth be told, I didn’t really want to watch this year’s Oscars. Mainly because the majority of the nominated films didn’t interest me at all. The best were Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and I, Tonya, and the rest was terribly mediocre and uninteresting; the Academy could not sink any lower. They completely forgot about such nicely done movies like Mollys Game, Brawl in Cell Block 99, or Wind River, and they didn’t care. What’s important is that there were a couple of black people and one politician nominated and correctness-wise, they were set. That’s actually the word that captures this year’s Oscars – correctness. Jimmy Kimmel was so scared of offending somebody that he barely appeared on stage during the second half of the ceremony. And since #metoo is the current topic in Hollywood, everybody was careful because they didn’t want some actress accusing the guy to her left of sexual harassment. That’s actually why many actors didn’t even come to the ceremony. Overall, this year was very bad. The giving out of Oscars was terribly, unbearably boring and there was nothing going on. Literally! Jimmy had one idea with a scooter and even that got lost in the flood of boredom and, in the end, had no point. The only joy was brought to me by the awards awarded to main and supporting actors and actresses. But Frances McDormand didn’t have to give such a feminist speech. In the end, the only positive of this year’s Oscars was the fact it was only 4 hours long and I managed to get to work on time. ()
