Haruka ist neu an der Schule und wird von ihren Mitschülerinnen gemobbt: Keine Erniedrigung bleibt ihr erspart. Eines Tages fängt das Haus der jungen Frau Feuer und ihre Familie stirbt in den Flammen. Jetzt sinnt Haruka auf blutigste Rache. Die Verfilmung des gleichnamigen Mangas dreht sich um Themen, die wohlbekannt sind im narrativen Schaffen Japans, die hier aber mit einer unerhörten Gewalt angegangen werden, welche kontrastiert mit der wunderschönen Winterlandschaft. It’s alright while the feeling of a serious film about school relationships and bullying prevails. The important thing, though, is in what part of the film this is overcome by the feeling of “this is bullshit!” To me, that happened pretty early…

This Japanese revenge bully splatter sounded appealing, but unfortunately didn't live up to its potential. As long as the film focused on school bullying, it felt believable and quite gritty, but the revenge aspect itself is uninteresting due to the not so good CGI effects (the gore is very bad) and rather than excitement or enthusiasm, it makes you laugh and cry at the same time. There are a few interesting moments, but due to the long running time, I wasn't very entertained by the end. 3 stars and being generous. 50%
