Syn Królowej Śniegu

Kazimierz (Franciszek Pieczka) reads Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales to little Marcin (Maciej Bożek in his first role), and the time he spends with his older neighbor is one of the few happy moments in the boy's life. Marcin has problems with his eyesight, communication at school, and, above all, in his relationship with his mother (Michalina Olszańska). Raising him on her own, Ania is young and attractive, but lost. She rarely finds time for her son: she goes to Poznan to work in order to earn money to pay for his treatment. When she is at work, out on a date, or partying, her little boy is looked after by Kamil (Rafał Fudelaj), who is in love with her, Kazimierz, or her kind-hearted neighbor, Zofia (Anna Seniuk). Despite their help, Ania is starting to see motherhood more and more as a burden, while Marcin is feeling increasingly lonely. Will they manage to find some common ground? Robert Wichrowski's film balances is social cinema that makes use of the poetics of fairy tales-and fairy tales, as we all know, can be cruel. (New Horizons International Film Festival)
