Karel Kachyňa created a psychological drama out of the story 'The Sad Eyes Hana Karadžičová' FROM Ivan Olbracht. It tells of a Jewish girl led to tragedy through love. Hana's passionate awakening for a man who has turned away FROM traditional faith results in her condemnation by the Jewish community and her own family disowning her. The film illuminates the strength of the girl's defiance and its tragic results. (Verleiher-Text)
