Jason und Alexandra Paulson haben Glück im Unglück nachdem sie bei einem Segeltörn auf offener See kentern, werden sie vom charmanten Kapitän Bigelow aus der tosenden See gefischt und dem Schiffsarzt Dr Grbac übergeben. In der folgenden Nacht hat Jason einen fürchterlichen Albtraum, in dem er Tausende von kleinen und riesige mutierte Spinnen in einem Käfig sieht. Am nächsten Tag macht er einen grausigen Fund Im Kühlraum des Schiffes stösst er auf gefrorene manschliche Körper. Dann entdeckt er die ganze Wahrheit über die Experimente des Dr. Grbac er spritzt Menschen die DNA von Spinnen ein, um in den Wirtskörpern riesige Spinnen zu züchten, die ihre Wirte von innen heraus auffressen. Nach dem Schlüpfen werden die Mutanten immer grösser, bis sie völlig ausser Kontrolle graten und als gigantische Mordmaschinen Chaos und Zerstörung über das ganze Schiff bringen. (Verleiher-Text)

Englisch Wow, this was “great”! Not only was this a big pile of bullshit, but the special effects were awful, and so were the actors, and it wasn’t even fun. If the intention of the creators was to make a serious horror film… no, let’s leave it there. But I’m glad I avoided falling asleep because that ending was awesome! :D ()

Englisch I saw the first one, which, while terrible, still stuck in my mind as a fairly entertaining piece of junk with some passable horror moments, and I watched the second one after reading the synopsis, expecting to laugh a lot. Unfortunately, it turned out exactly as it shouldn't have. The first hour is not that terrible in terms of filmmaking, but it sticks to the ground and doesn't have even a hint of light guilty pleasure, while the ending, which is entirely based on guilty pleasure, is absolutely idealess and ridiculous in an unintentional way. I wasn't bored and it's a bit better than, say, the tragic Arachnid, but it's nonetheless awful fakery on the part of the filmmakers to every slightly intelligent viewer. Otherwise, the actors are terrifying and the effects... well, let's just say the programmer wasn't in the mood to work and left the job to a trained raccoon. 25% ()
