Der junge New Yorker Fotograf Chris Washington fährt mit seiner Freundin Rose aufs Land, um deren wohlhabender Familie vorgestellt zu werden. Chris ist beunruhigt, weil Rose ihren Eltern gegenüber nicht einmal erwähnt hat, dass er Afroamerikaner ist. Missy und Dean bereiten ihm aber einen überaus freundlichen Empfang.
