Tropfen nehmen sie wohlhabende Männer aus, bevorzugt in Spielkasinos und Luxushotels. In terms of screenplay quality, it is clearly an average affair that any episode of the TV show Hustle easily surpasses. We have already seen the game of swapping suitcases in dozens of movies, and The Swindle simply repeats what genre fans know by heart. The film is elevated to a mild above-average level by Isabelle Huppert's performance, as she lends her peculiar French charm and top-notch acting to her fraudster character, Betty. Isabelle Huppert knows how to portray these types of fateful women exceptionally well, and at the time of filming, she was at the ideal age to emphasize her sensuality. Only thanks to her, I would consider giving it four stars, but unfortunately, the plot gets painfully messy right when the criminal gang appears. The villains, who do not hesitate to brutally murder a cashier, behave incredibly naively towards the fraudulent duo. My overall impression is 60%.
