The Open Sky

In 2013, a quarrel in the market of the Burmese town of Meiktila led to violent clashes between Buddhists and Muslims during which dozens were killed and thousands were left homeless. This short documentary presents one of the victims of the riots, an elderly Muslim woman who was saved by her Buddhist friend during a fire in her house. Despite the dramatic circumstances experienced by the victims of the riots, the film has a positive message about the power of friendship between women of different religions. (One World)
