I'm not a fan of Nirvana, and I've never actively sought out their music; at one point, I even quite disliked it. That has passed and I can now listen to their songs. But this documentary is absolutely brilliant. It's an excellent example of filmmaking when someone really puts effort into the form and editing, piecing together materials filmed directly by the subject or those close to them with material created specifically for the film. An incredible added value, for example, lies in the animated segments. This is how I imagine a great documentary.
