Miska and his friends work at a construction site in Budapest, returning to their native village in the plains to amuse themselves at the week-ends. There, the young man meets Klári. She pretends to live in the country, although she also works in Budapest. During the following weekends, they meet again. After easy flirtations, Miska falls in love with her. Klári is in love as well, but she has no courage to confess him that she has been pulling his leg. In Budapest, Klári is courted by Feri. Miska bets to seduce a riper woman, who happens to be Feri's tenant. The night when Feri brings up Klári, made drunk at a bar, is selected to be spent with her. Klári fiercely refuses Feri's approaches and is about to leave when she meets Miska, also leaving. Both are astonished and extremely deceived. Dawn is breaking through. They are heading in the same direction in the street, by each others' side, speechless. (Verleiher-Text)
