Seine Frau und sein Sohn werden auf irgendeiner dieser zahllosen einsamen Inseln verdursten, wenn Dr. Kevin Riley nicht 1 Million Dollar auftreibt. Aber die hat er nicht! Er ist doch bloß Arzt in einem Bezirkskrankenhaus und wollte einmal Ferien in der Karibik machen. Aber den Fischern, die die gestrandete Familie mit dem kaputten Motorboot gefunden haben, erscheint er als reicher Mann. Da muss sich was verdienen lassen! Mit aller Härte machen sie Riley den Ernst der Lage klar. Die Polizei ist wenig hilfreich, denn hier ist die Karibik, man ist schlecht ausgestattet und außerdem: Gibt es eigentlich Beweise für diese wilde Geschichte? At first impression, this film seems quite unattractive, but after half an hour it nails you to your chair and lures you into a very suspenseful survival crime drama, which reminded me of The Fugitive with Harrison Ford. The decent script provides a good dose of twists and turns, convincing performances, a realistic premise, plenty of suspense, and the sense of hopelessness where the main character's whole life is turned upside down in one night is shocking. A very good film 80%

The family goes on vacation to the sea in a suspicious boat, which also prevents them from returning from the island, and they end up shipwrecked. The problem is that they won't be able to survive, and they don't secure even a drop of water, so the little son starts to slowly die. A man wants to take the rescue into his own hands, but everything gets complicated. At times quite boring, and predictable, but watchable.
