Everly - Die Waffen einer Frau

It seems someone wanted to outshine Tarantino and Rodriguez, but they forgot that a few decent gore effects and quality action are far from everything, even in an action movie. The middle part is terribly boring, and not even Salma Hayek in any type of outfit can save it. One of the worst purely action films in a very long time, mixing a number references of underground trash on dusty VHS tapes, but it just doesn't work. (12.07.2015)

Ein blutiges Videospiel-Theater, eigentlich ein Einakter, in dem es vor allem darum geht, dass Salma Hayek Killer beseitigt, die versuchen, sie und ihre Familie umzubringen. Erwarten Sie nicht mehr als geschickt aufgenommene und sich langsam steigernde Actionszenen, eine sympathische Länge und einen leicht schwarzen Humor. As long as Joe Lynch keeps coming up with stupid shit, it's awesome (whenever he pulls out a grenade, you’re set for the best scene of the movie), in the lowest sense of the word. It fails hard when he tries to do Tarantino or when Salma generates an acting performance (where are my boobs?!). Unfortunately, these scenes are so plentiful and so tiresome that you start to wonder about the elementary logic of it all and here it's all done. Anyway, I wasn't expecting such outbursts of explicit violence, so I'll add a small plus to the three stars. It sucks, but for the money... (11.06.2015)

Yeah, this is a very pleasantly tough and action-packed ride that Salma Hayek masters with absolute ease. The gore is sometimes too much in certain places, but it's part of the whole thing, just if there weren't so many digital tricks. However, this film has drive and an invincible woman with this body is simply a great asset. It's nice to watch. (03.03.2015)
