"Bucharest - Year of the Dragon" tells the story of a group of Chinese immigrants from Bucharest, lost in the social and economic landscape of modern Romania and, at the same time, it captures fragments of Romanian reality, from their perspectives. Regardless their social statuses, their early stages of adaptation are difficult and hide uncomfortable truths. Han Wenlong is an illegal immigrant whose dream of working on a construction site in Eastern Europe ended before it started. Shen Xiaoming is a Chinese businessman and, at the same time, a Romanian citizen, who lives suspended between two worlds. Li Jianhua is a journalist who has risked his life in an attempt to present the life of the new community from an objective point of view. Step by step, the documentary reveals the lives of three characters, who come from different social groups, and at the same time, tells the story of a community that tries to adapt in a country with which has shared a common political past.
