In the summer of 1919 the ferryman's daughter, Pille Mária releases a few red soldiers by trickery from the Whites' captivity. Captain Sass takes merciless vengeance. He orders Menyus, the traitor brother to escort Mária to the castle, where they torture and rape her in front of her family. Later the revolutionary court executes the Sasses based on Mária's testimony. Mária falls in love with the red commando's commander, Sidó. When the whites win, Mária tortured again terribly, shoots her traitor brother, Menyus to cover for the escape of Sidó, sentenced for death by torture. (Verleiher-Text)
