Otra noche en la tierra

Filmed during the revolution of 2011, Another Night on Earth presents everyday life in Cairo in the midst of a social upheaval. Cameras placed in taxicabs have recorded discussions between the drivers and their customers, uncovering the lives of ordinary Egyptians. In the streets of the crowded metropolis, the revolt is a topic among others, mirroring people's lives in different ways. The fast-paced exchanges fluctuate between political differences, financial concerns and direct statements about the companion's lifestyle. What makes political personal? The price of petrol, perhaps. Yet, amidst the heated conversations and colourful personalities, sparks humour.
