A documentary on art and global migration in indigenous communities. The artist Alejandro Santiago returns from France to his home village Teococuilco in Oaxaca, Mexico. Half of the inhabitants of the village have moved across the border to the United States in the hope of a better life. Santiago decides to immortalize all the 2500 emigrants and himself in clay sculptures. The art project that gives employment to local people is also a social comment: if there were more jobs and schools, people would stay in their villages. To quote the Zapotec: "Nibe te nuná – Why leave when you have it all here?" (Skábmagovat-elokuvajuhla)
