Shihun

An introverted chef faints while cutting fish in a Japanese restaurant. He is diagnosed with depression. But it would be no spooky spectacle without an underlying cause of the rough fall. The chef's peculiar behavior gets out of hand and the peaceful resting place in the mountains transforms into a bloodbath. Director Chung Mong-hong explores the hidden motives of a mental collapse and the highly distorted relationship between a father and a son. The poetic imagery of nature contrasts with the extreme violence that also offers biting humor and philosophical riddles.
