Bouwspelement

This is a special film commissioned by the association of construction firms as a hymn to contruction on the occasion of the completion of the on millionth post-war house. Van der Linden’s film pays attention to the new buildings; but also to the action of the workers erecting them. Atmospheric cinegraphics of rectilinear blocks of apartment flats, new churches and stone roads that sprang up in the Dutch landscape at such a great pace in the fifties. The creative element of construction is enhanced as images are accompanied by marching music or light-hearted tunes. This symbiosis between image and sound is well-built.
