Der großmäulige Wachmann Ben (Kevin Hart) will dem hochdekorierten Cop James (Ice Cube) zeigen, was in ihm steckt. Nachdem Ben an der Polizeiakademie aufgenommen wird, glaubt er sich bereits am Ziel. Bis Schwager James ihn mit auf Streife nimmt ... Die chaotische Schlingerpartie durch Atlantas Unterwelt gerät bald völlig aus dem Ruder und mutiert zu einer Achterbahnfahrt durch die Hölle, bei der sogar der abgebrühte Supercop noch dazulernen muss. Nämlich, dass das Plappermaul seines neuen Partners mindestens so gefährlich ist wie das Bleigewitter der Gangster, die aus den Jägern Gejagte machen. Hmm, it seems that someone here really, really wanted to be the new Eddie Murphy. Unfortunately (or fortunately), he has neither the charisma nor, and more importantly, the talent. Yeah, I’m talking about you, Kevin Hart. There’s no one as annoying and embarrassing in contemporary Hollywood as Hart, who surpasses even Chris Tucker, the king of awkwardness of his time, in terms of his relentless overacting and attempt to be "funny" at all costs. The only bright spot is Ice Cube, who may be tough as nails, but I like him since Three Kings, he’s fun. Which can’t be said for this awfully unfunny “comedy” that makes you think that any douchebag can be a screenwriter in Hollywood. I can understand the massive success overseas because the large black audience loves this whiny shit.

Horribly worn-out buddy movie formula that simply doesn't work as it should anymore. Ice Cube is surprisingly good, Kevin Hart is just annoying, and you really want him to get a lot more flack. Well, the story also runs in well-trodden tracks, not bringing anything specific to the table. Tim Story just continues to prove that he is simply an average filmmaker.
