This documentary, which sets itself apart from the conventional mainstream interpretation of the causes and effects of the fall of communism, is based on interviews with experts on intelligence services, dissidents, refugees, and cold warriors. Former US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, head of CIA counterintelligence Tennent Bagley, Oleg Gordievsky (a former mole within the KGB), and Russian dissident Vladimir Bukovsky offer a different view of the events following 1989, which definitely did not bring an end to communist ideology and mentality.
