Celal Tan ve Ailesinin Aşırı Acıklı Hikayesi

This film depicts the tragic story of the constitutional court's professor who murders his young wife in a fit of jealousy. The attempt to conceal the real course of the tragic event launches a vortex of lies and hypocrisy. The extreme stylization of the picture, expressive motion of the camera, and color scheme particularly reflect the hypocrisy of the upper class. The emphasis on the exaggerated acting performances prevent the viewer from feeling any sympathy towards the protagonists, and prompts one to take a clear stand. Full of playful absurdity, the picture is a grotesque portrait of contemporary Turkish society. (Febiofest)
