Le Temps dure longtemps

Özcan Alper, whose appraised debut, Autumn (Sonbahar), was screened at Febiofest in 2009, introduces his third film. A young student of ethnic musicology wants to find her Kurdish sweetheart, and so she leaves Istanbul and records local elegies for her thesis along her travels. In Diyarbakir, she crosses paths with Ahmet, who decides to help her as they both still feel the pain of the past. What ever happened to Sumra's beloved? This road movie portrays a couple's unfulfilled love, the emptiness of loss of a loved one, and the tragic consequences of the Kurds' genocide. (Febiofest)
