Zwei Brüder (Bill Moseley und Kane Hodder) haben eine ein blutiges Business aufgezogen. Sie fangen Notrufe ab und versetzen getarnt als Rettungssanitäter mit ihrem alten Krankenwagen einen abgelegenen Highway-Abschnitt in Angst und Schrecken. Was ihre zukünftigen Opfer noch nicht wissen: Das Brüderpaar ist nicht auf Rettung, sondern auf Töten spezialisiert. Als eines Tages einige Teenager in das Visier der blutgierigen Geschwister geraten, steht ihnen ein Alptraum bevor, der ihre schlimmsten Vorstellungen noch übertrifft und es beginnt ein gnadenloser Kampf ums Überleben. I was expecting quite a lot from Old 37 (impressive trailer, appealing leading duo), but in the end it turned out to be just better than average. Despite the very short running time, the film is unnecessarily devoted to teenage boys, which is a damn shame, because especially Kane Hodder is an asshole that commands a fair amount of respect. It's filmed quite competently, there's a nice soundtrack, but it's a shame that most of the deaths are off screen, so I'm not too happy with the brutality. I was expecting a return to 2008-09, when the best slasher and exploitation flicks were made, but that didn't happen. The line “Don't worry I am Paramedic” was heard maybe twenty times in the film and it was getting annoying. Story 4/10, Atmosphere 6/10, Gore 4/10, Visuals 6/10, Action 5/10, Entertainment 6/10. 60%

It would be nice to at least say that "Old 37" is a case of decent craftsmanship, but it's not. Here it's just playing on the fact that there are a few moderately appealing scenes, especially during the traffic accidents where you'll feel like you're in a bloodbath, but okay, exaggeration is fine. However, overall, the storyline is terribly banal, and it's just about steering the young towards massacre. Nothing new, nothing interesting, just old tracks that are already quite rusty.
