Loverboy

Luka, a young boy, lives in a desolate Romanian countryside and is involved in human trafficking. His carefree view of the world and confident demeanor becomes complicated by a relationship with a young girl named Veli. The Romanian director follows the main character's actions from a detached perspective, and while emphasizing the overall theme; he inconspicuously develops an intimate story of a great love that can drive a man to self-destructive behavior. The picture, filmed in a documentary style, depicts the dichotomy between the inhospitable and monotonous character of a poor country, and the intense life tempo of young people who fill their existence with wild parties, fast cars, and the feeling of being unpunishable.
