Englisch A decent sequel, but I expected a lot more. As for the story, I wasn't too entertained by it and there are a few dead spots, which takes away from the pace and drive, but other attributes make up for it. Perfect visuals, clear cinematography, solid fights, top-notch Wing Chun choreography, an excellent Donnie Yen and ably seconded by the great Max Zhang (for me he’s a newly rising action star), and a delightfully pumped up Mike Tyson, he's only in the film for five minutes, but his fight with Donnie gave me goosebumps. The best part is the three-phase finale, which has the makings of a top ten martial arts fight. I suspect that Boyka will be better than Ip Man 3,but satisfaction nonetheless. 80%. ()

Englisch The fantastic dramatic plot line focused on Ip’s wife gives me no choice but to give a full set of stars. The excellent fights may no longer has as much oomph as in past episodes, but they are more precise and more faithful. Donnie Yen is great again. ()

Englisch Surprisingly, a very entertaining threequel that skillfully combines deadpan and imaginative action, along with a touching emphasis on family values. By the way, the involvement of Mike Tyson turned out to be an excellent move, and his moments are by far the most entertaining in the whole film, but at the same time the story moves to a much stronger personal level than it was in the second film. They also got a bigger budget, and you can see that in the result. ()

Englisch Donnie Yen seems like he was born for this role and delivers it with precisely the emotions that suit the character. He's calm, essentially unable to express emotions properly, closed off, and somewhat slow. In reality, though, he's unreal in a fight, and some of the fight scenes - including the one with Mike Tyson - are absolutely brilliant. ()
