Die berühmte Öresund-Brücke bei Nacht: Ein Stromausfall hat die Verbindung zwischen Dänemark und Schweden in Dunkelheit gehüllt. Kurz darauf wird eine tote Frau mitten auf der Brücke gefunden. Eine tote Frau? Bei näherer Untersuchung ergibt sich, dass die Leiche in der Mitte zusammen genäht wurde, und eigentlich von zwei Frauen stammt: Der Oberkörper gehört der Vorsitzenden des Stadtrates von Malmö, der untere Teil einer dänischen Prostituierten. Da Staatsbürger aus beiden Ländern betroffen sind, ermitteln die schwedische Kommissarin Saga Norén (Sofia Helin) und ihr dänischer Kollege Martin Rohde (Kim Bodnia) gemeinsam. Season 1 (2011) (S01)
This is a very good series that will interest anyone who likes detective stories. This one is Nordic, so it's also quite gritty, but above all the characters are well-developed. The two central detectives are both simply good, perfectly mismatched, and that works perfectly for them. It was only the plot that disappointed me a little bit in terms of its revelation. I expected it to be a bit more sophisticated and surprising. Even so, this series easily holds your attention.

Season 2 (2013) (S02)
I found the second series to be a bit better in the sense that you already know the characters and are quite curious to see how their fates will play out. Honestly, the overall story is pretty good too, and I liked the reveal of who's behind it all a little more than in the first series. It has to be said, though, that I don't like how the finale played out, even though I have to admit it's a pretty big blow. It's almost a shame that the series is continuing.

Season 3 (2015) (S03)
At first I couldn't forgive the show for getting rid of Martin, who I thought was a great contrast to Saga Norén, but the case was so engrossing that I forgave them for that. Moreover, her new colleague, Henrik, is such an interesting character that soon enough he will draw you in. The plot gets complicated, it's not boring in terms of the relationships and there's definitely room for another series. I'm curious to see what happens next.

Season 4 (2018) (S04)
Season 4 is a fitting end to The Bridge, although I think viewers would have liked to see it continue. There is much that could be said, but equally there are aspects that make further telling impossible. It's probably a good thing that this is the end, because it ends in the best way possible and such endings are worth it. Saga Norén definitely remains one of the most interesting detective characters of all time.
