Boxing in the Philippine Islands

This hypnotic study of a boxing match focuses primarily on the Filipino star boxer Manny Pacquiao, who in the year 2000 was declared the “boxer of the decade”. We watch typical movements, sped up to unnatural speeds. Sometimes, all we see is the shadow of somebody training, as it encounters the shadow of a tree on the sidewalk being blown by the wind. Two boxers on the street dominate the space through the traces left by their swinging arms. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
