Englisch In Rosa Morena, we follow Thomas, a man living a comfortable, financially secure life—a classic Scandinavian situation, where everything seems perfect but something’s still missing. Instead of adopting a child closer to home, Thomas heads straight to Brazil, diving deep into the slums to find what he’s looking for. At first, it felt like the story of a privileged man with too much money and not enough perspective, searching for something to fulfill him. But as the film unfolds, you see the stark contrast between Thomas’ life and the everyday struggles of those in the favelas, highlighting cultural differences in a striking way. It’s a bit crazy, and hard to relate to at first, but eventually, you start to understand his journey. Even though it’s a premise that might seem foreign to many, especially outside of Denmark, the film’s portrayal of life in Brazil’s slums makes it compelling. That atmosphere alone kept me watching.
