Victim of a Kafkaesque bureaucracy, Alfred (Mehran Karimi Naseri) has been stuck in the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for over a decade. His refugee papers were stolen in 1988, after which he was forced to stay at the airport until he would receive his papers from Belgium. Nobody expected that the process would take 11 years. During this time he has drawn lots of attention of the media. But as he finally receives the identity papers he has been waiting for he has doubts about leaving the airport. (Verleiher-Text)
