Bolivien, 2002. Die Politik-Strategin Jane Bodine hat sich vor sechs Jahren nach einem Skandal und einer verlorenen Kampagne aus der Öffentlichkeit zurückgezogen. Jetzt wird sie von ihrem Team zurück ins Boot geholt: Der bolivianische Präsidentschafts-Kandidat Pedro Castillo liegt als unsympathischer Selfmade-Millionär chancenlos bei den Umfragen zurück. Als Jane erfährt, dass ihr Erzfeind Pat Candy den erfolgreichen 'Bolivien-Obama' Rivera coacht, läuft 'Calamity Jane' erneut zur Hochform auf: Bolivien sei in einer Krise, und Castillo der einzige Retter der Nation! Sandra Bullock and Zoe Kazan have made this, at times mediocre, film into something that is fun to watch. I remember mostly Sandra’s bare butt plus nice views of Bolivia and La Paz.

Sandra Bullock once again proves that she definitely knows how to act, and she shows it in a picture that she absolutely enjoys in how she manages to show that politics is just a big comedy for people and nothing else. We simply don't want to realize it. The ending is foolishly idealistic, but why not. She would probably get a brick though.
