In an imaginary country, the young clerk of a ministry, who at the time of the revolution was a child, is selected to be the chairman of a committee for a historical tender. The objective of the tender is to preserve the memory of the Commander who died suddenly after the revolution. Strange things happen to the young man from that time on: he gets into contact with a secret association, discovers the hiding place of the Commander who is fully alive, and is eventually arrested as he himself becomes suspicious. He slowly understands when and how he was used and gets an insight into the techniques of political scheming. He gradually adjusts to the situation. Then suddenly the Commander enters the scene and takes over power. And in his immediate environment, there is the young man. (Verleiher-Text)
