A pleasant short film that I saw at the French Film Festival. It is a story of a casting where an Arab director from Algeria is looking for actors for his new film about his youth and needs to find a pair of actors who convincingly portray poor Arabs serving in a wealthy family. There are plenty of interested people who fit the roles, but these descendants of their Arab parents have become so domesticated that it makes the director sad. Surprisingly, he finds a kindred soul in a French Algerian who works as a caretaker and it doesn't bother him anymore that they were once on opposite sides of the barricade. Together, they discover the ideal candidate for the film role. Overall impression: 60%.
