Prague in the early 1960s: A young aspiring composer is caught between his career ambitions and his loyalty to a politically subversive friend. The young composer's career is put to risk if he does not report this friend to the police.
Prague in 2009: A journalist talks to the now aged composer about these past events for the first time. He seeks to find out what happened fifty years ago but soon finds himself intwined in the events. The journalist seeks to draw his conclusions following events that are beyond his comprehension.
