Ihr Kinderlein kommet, o kloppt euch doch all'! (2015) (S07E09)

Englisch Great, I really enjoyed the Christmas episode. The white Christmas at the cottage in the mountains had its unforgettable charm. I was amused that Alex managed to find company, so the moments with the family were not a suffering for her, although her attempt not to be a Grinch somehow missed the mark. The unveiling of the secret locked room was perfect. // "Our parents must not find out about this." "I won't tell them, they still respect me." / "Kids, go outside and pretend there is snow." ()

Beinahe Barbra Streisand (2016) (S07E10)

Englisch The tenth episode was not as perfect for me as the Christmas special, but I still found plenty of opportunities to have a good time in it. The adventurous day with Uncle Mitchell was initially a bit unremarkable for me, but Ray Liotta and Barbara Streisand's entrance gate gave it a boost, Lily's first flirt got me, but the crickets were the best. // "Can we bring it with us? The cat might still be alive." ()

Breite deine Flügel aus (2016) (S07E11)

Englisch No, it wasn't exactly a great joy, I'm not far from creating a figure of Cameron and buying a set of long needles. The way that character annoys me, it's impossible to describe in decent words. Thank goodness Phil got to know robots, and even the ducks weren't completely bad. 4* - // "Domo arigato! You have robots here?! What?!" / "I don't intend to lose to Vietnam twice in my life." ()

Aus Alt mach Neu (2016) (S07E12)

Englisch "I think that the creators wasted a big opportunity here. With a little effort, Jay's first day in retirement could have turned into an amazing five-star episode, the potential was there, but no one fully utilized it. I had a good time with Veteška, but Cameron disrupted Jay's storyline, and as I already mentioned, it was lacking some juice overall." // "Will we not take off before they catch up?" "In my opinion, we can even land before that." ()

Hör' mal, wer da klopft! (2016) (S07E13)

Englisch I'm a bit uncertain about the thirteenth episode, I enjoyed the events surrounding Claire and Phil, and I felt the same way about Jay's sabotaging actions, which Gloria thoroughly rooted out. I just felt that the episode didn't work as a whole. Moreover, I was terribly annoyed by the storyline with Mitchell and Cameron, which was supposed to be funny but ended up being too... 4*. // "Hey, Jay, turn up the heat a bit, Manny is chattering his teeth in the back." ()

Sturm und Drang (2016) (S07E14)

Englisch Phil's fatal failure triggered a series of attempts to regain dignity, which were so futile that they couldn't amuse me. I don't know if I would want to have my own generator by the house, because it could attract people to me on stormy nights, who know about it, but since I was never good at math, the idea of lightning is quite enticing to me. // "What's going on here? It's so stuffy that it would require a machete." ()

Wie macht sie das nur? (2016) (S07E15)

Englisch The fifteenth episode was the fourth I watched today, and it definitely seemed to be the best. I enjoyed how Claire's little secret stripped Phil of his confidence, and I was most impressed by the situation that the secrets in Jay's house had come to. I also stared in amazement at how Alex was able to fix the laptop blindly. 4*+ // "When she falls asleep, the plane will undergo a short process." ()

In der Kunst der Täuschung (2016) (S07E16)

Englisch "I don't think I would enjoy yoga classes under normal circumstances, but it worked out here. I'm not sure it's a good idea for the creators to repeatedly return to Jay's arch-nemesis, it seems rather barren to me. However, Phil with his web of lies impressed me the most. // "What's the rush, she's only eight?" "Most Vietnamese people her age already ride their bikes to work." ()

Express Yourself (2016) (S07E17)

Englisch It didn't have to be a bad episode, because I had a great time with Phil and Claire, their sleep struggle was perfect, and Andy's suicidal mission got me as well; even Jay's bathroom reconstruction didn't ruin my mood. However... The creators, for reasons I don't understand, decided to bring back Cameron's sister to the storyline. If I liked Mr. Troška, I would have been laughing my head off, but like this, it's a three-star rating. // "You always like the end result, so don't criticize the process." ()

Im Rausch der Gummibärchen (2016) (S07E18)

Englisch No glory! Finally, after some time, I have experienced a truly entertaining episode without unnecessary disruptive influences. The vast difference between plans and reality amused me, as well as the clear evidence that Agent Smith from The Matrix was a harmless stuffed toy compared to Claire and her investigative methods. // "I can't wait to see this beauty without makeup." "Believe me, that would be the last thing you'd see." / "If I wasn't annoyed, I'd say they're worn out." ()

Alle ersetzen die Wahrheit (2016) (S07E19)

Englisch And again, I came across a recurring problem that I have with the show. While I enjoyed the situation in the Dunphy's house, after Claire brought home a stray and Jay's meeting new people, Mitchell and Cameron's new roommates' strange experiences completely missed my interest. // "At least they made it after the wedding, but you destroyed my mom's life." ()

Stolz und Urteil (2016) (S07E20)

Englisch I had a good time, but I could have had much more fun if the creators gave Luke and Mitchell more space by not stuffing Uncle Cameron in with them; it definitely didn't please me. My aversion to this affected disgust has been growing since the first episode of the first season, and it's clear that I won't get used to it. Anyway, the others made me laugh again, especially Alex's approach was so dry that even the Sahara would envy it. // "La la la la, no." / "It suits you, darling." "Not a word anymore." ()

Mord im Portland-Express? (2016) (S07E21)

Englisch I liked the great train episode so much that not even Cameron bothered me in it. This was an approach that the creators could have used more often in the seventh season, I wouldn't have to lower my rating at least. I can't help it, but the plot with the book reminded me of an episode called "The Dictionary" from the third season of the series "Black Mamba". (That wasn't criticism but a compliment.) // "Well, Jennifer Lopez goes for a hundred, and yet sometimes I pretend she's my pillow." ()

Familienpolitik (2016) (S07E22)

Englisch No, not that I wasn't having fun this time, but the train was simply a little bit better. In the final episode of the seventh season, Alex got to me the most, she was great, similarly excellent was Phil, who found out about his children what he actually didn't want to, Claire didn't stay behind either, so I won't unnecessarily criticize, it was fine. // "It's dark and we drank a bottle of wine together." "It really is dark, I can't see quotation marks above the word 'together'." ()

Season 8 (2016) (S08)

Englisch Some of the episodes disappointed me quite a bit and most of them lacked the perfect humor that I was used to. Not that I wasn’t having fun, I just felt as if the creators didn't want to exert themselves too much and preferred to choose an easier and more comfortable way. It's a shame, this season was definitely one of the weaker ones, and I’m secretly hoping that it will get fixed by Season 9. ()

Eine Geschichte aus drei Städten (2016) (S08E01)

Englisch It's good that the creators stick to the established procedure and continue with the new season where the previous one ended. I had the impression that the Dunphys were once again the best, Jay and Gloria played it safe, and the events in Missouri could have been weaker if Mitchell hadn't saved them. // "We can't spend it, it's on the upper floor." / "Granny, how's the coma going?" ()

Auf Tuchfühlung mit der Toleranz (2016) (S08E02)

Englisch The second episode of the eighth season went back to the Dunphy family. Phil got me with his posttraumatic stress disorder, Alex held on with her mononucleosis closely, but what amused me the most were the selfish reasons of each family member for Alex to stay home or go to school. It was a treat :-) // "Is it Friday today? You can listen to the others' entertainment." ()

Kinder-Überraschungen (2016) (S08E03)

Englisch To be honest, I was a bit uncritical about the third episode because I was immediately captivated by Alex's written notes, so even Cameron's next gimmick couldn't poison me. Furthermore, the more Cameron annoys me, the better Lily's texts seem, so she manages to save the situation. The involvement of Jay, Gloria, and Claire in Manny and Luke's school function battle was also very successful. // "I'm graduating this year." "That's our dreamer!" ()

Sturmhöhen (2016) (S08E04)

Englisch The fourth episode had its positives, among which were definitely the Dunphys, Jay and Gloria, and negatives. Lily's name once again improved the negatives, her comments really amused me. Phil was in his element in the studio, Haley showed her strength, and the events surrounding Alex were great. I watched this episode exceptionally with subtitles and it was a fantastic experience, I'm glad that Gloria visited a speech therapist here. 4*+ // "Isn't that him?" "Eeeh, no, I sold the house." ()

Was würde Jesus tun ... zu Halloween? (2016) (S08E05)

Englisch Originally, I wanted to deduct one star because Claire didn't get a chance for some traditional Halloween bloodshed, but in the end, I had to reconsider because it wouldn't be fair of me. I had a great time, Lily had quality one-liners, Jesus crushed it as Gloria, Phil was in his element, and Claire was able to express herself in her own way. // "I'll give you a hundred bucks if you smash it." "Really?" "You want more?" / "You lied to me?! In our savior's costume?!" ()
